Allen Pyke Associates have designed all areas of the public realm within this mixed use development at a regeneration site adjacent to the River Colne in Colchester. Incorporating a shared surface boulevard and riversude walkway, the design makes careful use of paving materials, street furniture and specimen trees. Car parking and access have been designed to give priority to pedestrians, The combined residential, business, retail and cafe facilities will see many additional people using the area and this development is seen as key to setting the standard for adjacent future developments. A small play area and the inclusion of public art elements will help to enhance the public realm and setting of the buildings.
