Urban extension for St. Albans

Allen Pyke Associates have developed a masterplan for a new residential development on the edge of St. Albans comprising 266 new homes, a community facility and open informal space.

A comprehensive urban context study was undertaken to understand the local character of the site and the surrounding area, with presentations to local residents on the findings and ideas on urban design principles which could guide future development.

A masterplan has been created that incorporates a local Saxon ditch into the street system, a formal residential square, home zones and a landscaped children's playground.
