Allen Pyke Associates Ltd were appointed by Arena Leisure PLC to produce a Vision Study to propose ways to improve the facilities at Lingfield Park Racecourse to help address increasing competition in the racing sector. Following this study, a visual impact/character assessment, masterplan and a landscape strategy was prepared for a planning application involving extensive consultation and public exhibitions. The proposals include: rationalised and new stables and horse box parking; improved back of grandstand facilities (parkland setting with a boulevard tying the various functions together); a new entrance turnstile building; residential conversion and integrated leisure facility, combining hotel, fitness and golf club.
