LVIA for coastal protection at Seagrove Bay

Allen Pyke Associates were appointed by Haskoning UK Ltd on behalf of the Isle of Wight County Council to undertake a landscape and visual assessment for a proposed coastal protection scheme at Seagrove Bay.

The standard APAL methodology was adapted to incorporate published Seascape Assessment methodologies and so determine the potential visual impact of the coastal defence elements and the proposed beach nourishment scheme.

Allen Pyke Associates were actively involved in the design of the protection scheme in order to minimise the visual impact through collaboration with the engineers. Computer-generated photomontages were used to present clear findings for public consultation.
